Your ADHD Coach

Hello, I’m Vicky, ADHD coach and accredited counsellor, who has a deep understanding of both the challenges and unique gifts that having ADHD brings. I received a late diagnosis myself, aged 57, which finally brought me great clarity and has changed my life in ways I hadn’t ever imagined. It’s helped me better understand myself, and my sole passion to support other women who have ADHD or have a curiosity about ADHD, was born from this. Combining my experience of working with ADHD clients, alongside navigating my personal journey to find ways to confront my ADHD challenges, I bring a personal and professional insight to my work. I know firsthand what it’s like to struggle with focus, memory, organisation, and self-esteem, while still possessing the creativity, empathy, and drive that ADHD so often brings. With my professional history in both coaching and counselling, I blend established techniques with compassionate understanding, creating a supportive and non-judgmental space for growth and transformation.

Why Work with an ADHD Coach Who Has ADHD?

My personal journey with ADHD makes me uniquely positioned to support you. I don’t just understand the science of ADHD, I understand the daily experiences of living with it. I know what it’s like to be misunderstood, to face setbacks, and to grapple with an array of overwhelming emotions. When you work with me, you’re not just working with a coach who knows the theory, you’re working with someone who has walked the same path and come through stronger, more self-assured, and with a deeper understanding of what ADHD is and what it isn’t. Together, we’ll work to foster acceptance, understanding, and compassion.  We will work collaboratively to honour your individuality, enhance your strengths, and tackle the obstacles holding you back.

How I Can Help You

I specialise in working with women who, like myself, have been diagnosed later in life. We will focus on practical and empowering ways to deal with whatever your ADHD brings.

ADHD Coaching can support you in many ways. Starting with acceptance, we will explore what is realistic for you, and highlight important areas where you feel you need support. This might include how you can:
  • Improve strategies to manage your time, organisation, and self-care

  • Tap into your ADHD superpower
  • Manage your emotional rollercoaster
  • Enhance your working memory
  • Sustain better focus and attention
  • Develop your self-esteem and self-compassion
  • Improve your relationships and communication
  • Be held accountable and be emotionally supported
  • Cultivate practical tools to help you conquer overwhelm and stress
  • Create sustainable routines that work for you.
  • Set boundaries to find balance in your personal and professional life
  • Harness your strengths

Why many ADHD clients, prefer to work online

Experience tells me that virtual sessions are more preferable to clients with ADHD. Here’s why

  1. Flexible Scheduling: Online sessions are accessible from anywhere and can fit non-traditional schedules, making it easier for clients to maintain consistency without commuting challenges.
  2. Reduced Sensory Distractions: Clients are in familiar environments with fewer distractions, allowing for better focus and reduced sensory overload.
  3. Personalised, Comfortable Environment: Online coaching allows clients to move around, use fidget toys, or sit in a way that’s comfortable, reducing anxiety and encouraging natural engagement.
  4. Integration of ADHD-Friendly Tools: Digital platforms enable coaches and clients to share screens, use apps, and access resources in real-time, which can enhance learning and immediate application of strategies.
  5. Less Social Pressure: Online settings can feel less intimidating than in-person meetings, helping clients open up more easily and feel at ease during sessions.
  6. Energy and Focus Alignment: Clients can schedule sessions during their peak focus times, ensuring they’re more alert, engaged, and ready to make the most of the coaching experience.

Ultimately, online ADHD coaching meets clients where they are—both physically and mentally—creating an environment that’s adaptable, convenient, and aligned with the unique needs of individuals with ADHD.

ADHD in the workplace & support available from the Government scheme Access to Work

People with ADHD often experience difficulties maintaining focus on tasks, organising their workload, and regulating impulsive behaviours and emotions.

These challenges arise from differences in executive functioning, which governs skills like planning, time management, and self-control. In a work setting, these difficulties can manifest in several ways.

These challenges can contribute to workplace issues such as unmet expectations, frequent mistakes, or a perception of unreliability. Over time, this may lead to disciplinary action, strained relationships with colleagues or managers, and, in severe cases, dismissal from a job.

However, it is essential to recognise that individuals with ADHD often bring unique strengths to the workplace. These can include creativity, strong problem-solving abilities, the ability to hyper-focus on engaging tasks, and high levels of energy. With appropriate accommodations, strategies, and understanding from employers, individuals with ADHD can thrive professionally.

Access to Work is a UK government-funded scheme designed to help people with disabilities or health conditions, such as ADHD, succeed in the workplace. By providing tailored financial and practical support, it helps individuals overcome employment-related barriers and maintain their professional roles.
